Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program
EFNEP is a nutrition education program for limited-income families with children as well as youth.
The main goal of EFNEP is to help limited-income families and youth acquire the knowledge, skills,
and attitudes necessary to change behavior for nutritional well-being.
EFNEP offers a series of hands-on cooking and nutrition classes for both adult and youth. Food
tasting and dollar stretching ideas are included in all classes.
ADULT - Nutrition assistants teach a series of five cooking and nutrition classes to limited
income adults with children in small groups. The classes are 1 ½ hours. Click on Adult at the
left for more information.
YOUTH - Limited-income children ages 6 to 12 are taught nutrition and cooking skills at Title One
Schools in Missoula County. Some after-school and summer programs also receive EFNEP youth nutrition
programs. Click on Youth at the left for more information.
