The Missoula County Master Gardener Program is an ever evolving program to meet the needs of Missoula's gardening/farming-centric community.
· The Missoula Master Gardener course has grown to be a 12 week program running from January 31st until the end of April and will cover a broad spectrum of garden, landscape, and horticulture subjects. This course will include tours of regional nurseries, farms, and horticulture businesses. The weekly sessions will include guest speakers from subject-specific experts and will include various in-class exercises as well as information-based lecutres. This program will prepare you to properly care for your garden and landscape. Click HERE to see a tentative schedule for 2017. Registration for the 2017 program is now FULL, but a wait list will be maintained.
· The program is open to anyone, regardless of experience or background, but is limited to 30 individuals. Priority will be provided to the first 30 paid registrants. The cost of the program is $170, which includes the Montana Master Gardener Handbook. A $50 rebate will be offered to all participants of the program who complete 20 hours of approved community service by the end of 2017.
· All of those interested in receiving the Montana Master Gardener Certificate must complete the program, receive no less than an 80% on the course exam, and complete 20 hours of approved volunteer service. For all other participants, the exam is not required.
