"An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure." -Benjamin Franklin
Weed Seed Free Forage
The purpose of this program is to provide forage products such as hay and straw that is free of noxious weed seeds to reduce the introduction of regional "designated" noxious weeds onto private, county, state and federal lands.
Missoula County's New Invaders Task Force works to control small infestations of noxious weeds classified as new invaders by the Missoula County Noxious Weed Management Plan.
Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS)
The AIS species Eurasian watermilfoil, curly-leaf pondweed and flowering rush are highly competitive in the northern climates found in Western Montana. There are currently no known infestations of these species in Missoula County, making prevention and early detection our biggest AIS priorities.
Plans & Permits
Many projects that require state or local approval, and that could result in the introduction of noxious weeds need to have an approved vegetation managment plan. Click here to learn more.
