The purpose of the board is to oversee the planning, implementing, and developing of a coordinated program that includes education, prevention, management, and research as described in the weed district's Missoula County Noxious Weed Management Plan.

Board Meetings
Regular Meetings: The board shall meet at least once per month at a time and place set by the board. Regular meetings shall be held on the third Thursday of the month unless otherwise decided by the board, taking into consideration holidays, training,and miscellaneous activities.
Annual Meeting: The meeting held in February shall be known as the annual meeting and shall be for the purpose of electing officers as well as reviewing weed board functions and committee assignments.
Special Meetings: Special meetings may be called 48 hours in advance by the chair, by two members of the board, or by the county commissioners.
Planning Meeting: One meeting each year will be for the purpose of reviewing the Weed District Management Plan, and for receiving citizen comment on that plan.
