The Montana County Weed Control Act §MCA 7-22-2152 requires anyone disturbing vegetation in a public right-of-way to prepare and obtain an approved Revegetation Plan from the Missoula County Weed District for all disturbed areas.

The Missoula County Public Works Department also requires a Revegetation Plan approved by the Missoula County Weed District as a precondition for receiving an Excavation Permit.

To obtain Weed District approval of a Revegetation Plan contact Bill Otten, Weed Prevention Coordinator, at (406) 258-4218.

Once you have your Revegetation Plan approved by the Weed District, you can apply for an Excavation Permit.
