 \nDay & Time: Tuesday evenings\, 6:00–8:30 p.m.\n\nLocation:\nThe Explorat
 ion Center\n1075 South Ave W\nMissoula\, MT\n\nThe training runs 9 weeks\,
  with weekly classes lasting approximately 2.5 hours. Participants receive
  instruction from Extension staff and local experts on a wide range of gar
 dening topics relevant to Montana. Cost is $250 includes book and lab supp
 lies\n\nTopics\nIntroduction to the Master Gardener Program / Volunteer op
 portunities\nGardening in Western Montana Climates\nNatives & Pollinators
 \nPlant Sciences & Botany Basics\nSoil Health\, Fertility\, & Nutrients\nC
 ompost\, Weeds & Wildlife\nVegetables\nAnnual & Perennial Flowers\nIntegra
 ted Pest Management / Plant Clinic\nOrnamental Tree Care: Planting\, Maint
 enance & Pruning\nFruit and Berry Production\n\n\n\nUpon completion of the
  course\, participants are required to complete 20 hours of approved volun
 teer service to earn Master Gardener certification.\n\nTo maintain certifi
 cation in subsequent years\, Master Gardeners complete:\n\n20 hours of vol
 unteer service annually\, and4 hours of continuing education each year.\n
 \nVolunteer opportunities are diverse and community-focused and may includ
 e:\n\nSupporting school and youth gardens\n\nGiving gardening presentation
 s to community groups\n\nStaffing the Extension plant clinic\n\nTabling at
  events such as the Clark Fork River Market and the Western Montana Fair\n
 \nAssisting with demonstration gardens and other Extension horticulture pr
 ograms!\n\nBecoming a Master Gardener is a meaningful commitment\, but it 
 is also a rewarding way to build skills\, connect with others\, and give b
 ack to the community. We have a strong and welcoming Master Gardener commu
 nity and look forward to growing our connections through service and garde

 ntana but do not wish to commit to volunteer service\, we encourage you to
