 the popular Horse Ownership 101 class for the third year in a row\, subsid
 izing the $65 registration cost. Youths (age 12-17) may accompany an adult
  for an additional $30. Class is limited to 10 participants.\n\nClass 1 – 
 “So\, you think you want to buy a horse?”\n\nThis class will provide a pra
 ctical overview of the planning and considerations that any prospective ho
 rse owner needs to know to make informed decisions regarding buying a hors
 e.\n\nPlanning ahead – information regarding options available for lessons
 \, leasing a horse or purchasing a horse and how to know which is the righ
 t option for you.\n\nFinancial Considerations – important information to k
 now about the cost of purchasing and caring for a horse as well as being p
 repared for those unexpected vet bills.\n\nKnowledge – information that wi
 ll help guide a potential horse owner through the confusing process of buy
 ing a horse including: what to purchase\, how to read and understand a hor
 se for sale ad\, what questions to ask and pitfalls to avoid\, and how to 
 protect yourself throughout the process.\n\nClass 2 – “A horse at home”\n
 \nThis class is for anyone who already owns a horse or plans to own a hors
 e now or in the future.  You will learn about choosing a boarding facility
  or preparing to have your horse at home. \n\nHow to create a safe\, comfo
 rtable environment for your horse. \n\nTypes and options for fencing\, she
 lter\, feeding\, pasture\, equipment\, etc. \n\nBringing your horse home a
 nd what to expect.\n\nGetting to know your horse safely. \n\nSetting you a
 nd your horse up for success as you help them transition to a new home.\n
