X-WR-CALDESC:Blooms & Brew March 10th from 6-8 p.m.\n\nNestled in the winds
wept\, arid ridges of Missoula's North Hills grows an endemic wildflower f
ound nowhere else on Earth. Dr. Meredith Zettlemoyer (University of Montan
 a) will share her lab's new research program studying how the endemic Miss
oula phlox (Phlox missoulensis) survives\, reproduces\, and fits into its
ecological and evolutionary neighborhood. We will discuss the remarkable f
loral diversity of this species\, its population health\, how it's related
to similar species\, and how it interacts with the local plant and pollin
ator community. By understanding Missoula phlox's evolution and ecology\,
we hope to help guide conservation for this rare species and the unique ec
 osystem it depends on.
