The Youth in Restoration Program (YIR) exposes high school students to the processes involved in land management. YIR provides youth career mentorship and on the ground experience in natural resource/conservation work while building and strengthening partnerships within a diverse mix of stewardship and management organizations.

Missoula County Weed District has hosted the Montana Biocontrol Coordination Project (MTBCP) since its inception in 2013. MTBCP is a grassroots effort initiated by federal, state, county, non-profit, and private land managers throughout Montana who saw a need for increased coordination within the state’s weed biocontrol program.

Missoula County works diligently to identify and control small infestations of noxious weed classified as new invaders by the Missoula County Noxious Weed Management Plan.
