Missoula County Department of Ecology & Extension strives to cultivate resilience and inspire growth by empowering Missoula County residents through hands-on education and sustainable practices. We work in the areas of:
Ecosystem Management: Programs focused on helping you mitigate the economic and environmental impacts of terrestrial and aquatic invasive species while at the same time prioritizing pollinator, water, and desirable plant community conservation.
Horticulture: Programs focused on showcasing the parts and pieces of all the living landscapes surround us, as well as providing inspiration and resources to help you in reaching your gardening and landscaping goals.
Nutrition, Health, & Wellness: Programs to inspire confidence in the kitchen! Hands-on learning opportunities focused on conveying science-based information on all things related to food.
Youth Development: Programs that provide mentorship and service-based learning opportunities in natural resources, agriculture, nutrition, and community development.
We have been a vital part of our community for a number of years. We were founded to serve a growing segment of our community in need of inaccessible services. We have continued to grow with the help of our donors and volunteers that make our mission possible. Through all these years our purpose still remains the same: bring services to those in need.
