Small Farm and Urban Farm Resources

Missoula County has over 576 farms registered with USDA, and 380 of them are between 1 and 50 acres in size. Whether a farmer grows cut flowers, vegetables, cows, apples, horses, or hops; landowners need resources to help manage sustainably and be good stewards for their plot of land. Resources and connections for farms and ranches of all sizes can be found here.

Missoula is considered the garden city and we are excited to be a major supporter and contributor to the Western Montana Fair each year in August! Missoula county extension is working hard to advance the Agriculture and Horticulture exhibits in 2024, we want to bring back our 'gardening' presence and encourage folks to enter their produce, small grains, honey and more into the fair! Contact Sarah Holden sholden@missoulacounty.us, for further information on how to enter the fair this year!
