Become a Garden Specialist

Become a specialist based on your interests.

Garden Specialists receive specific training around a particular garden space. Specialist groups operate independently from weekly public volunteer events. 

Specialty areas include: 

  • Tomatoes
    • transplanting, pruning, trellising, harvesting, etc.
  • Dahlias
    • planting, disbudding, harvesting, etc.
  • Native Plantings 
    • weeding & maintaining the Native Prairie, Crevice Garden, & Forest Garden
  • Greenhouse (early spring)
    • propagation and other greenhouse tasks
  • Annual Flowers
    • transplanting, weeding, dead-heading, etc. in our Beautiful Blooms garden
  • Saturday Garden Ambassadors
    • open or close the garden gates, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all visitors
