Meet Natalie Sullivan our new Ag and Livestock Extension Agent

Natalie Sullivan Missoula County Ag and Livestock Extension Agent

Natalie Sullivan grew up in Stevensville, MT, and attended MSU Bozeman where she graduated with a Bachelor's in Animal Science. In 2008, she was lucky to be hired by CHS Nutrition to manage their horse feed business in the Pacific Northwest. At CHS she developed her skills and experience in the equine nutrition industry developing products and educating the equestrian communities. She then worked for Land’O Lakes Cooperative for 2 years focused in the greater Seattle area. During that time she finished her Master’s Degree in Crop and Soil Science at WSU where she studied the “Harvesting and Growing Factors Influencing the Non-Structural Carbohydrate Values of Teff Grass”. During that period, she also met her now husband, Andrew. During a fun, family trip to Montana Natalie and Andrew stumbled across the property that they now own in Missoula, MT, and ended up moving back to Montana in December 2019.  They currently are “farming” 5 acres, 4 horses, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.

I’m most excited about the network of ecology and extension people working to better the places we live, and to be working in such a beautiful new space! This position is going to allow me to accomplish some big ideas I’ve been stewing on for a while.

Natalie’s passions, hobbies, vacation time, and career have all focused around horses, but she’s recently expanded her repertoire of activities to include bird hunting with her dog, Ghillie, and she is working towards her falconry license in 2025.
