Missoula County 4-H recently wrapped up the 2025 Western Montana Fair in record-breaking style! We had 88 4-H and FFA members participate in the Beef project, 18 participate in Dairy Goats, 147 take on the Swine project, and 38 each in Poultry and Rabbit. Beyond animal projects, 23 members showcased their skills in both Woodworking and Baking, 51 hit the target in the Fair Exhibition Archery Shoot, 21 impressed in Cooking, 11 in Welding, and 8 in Leadership.
This year’s fair was a true success; cooler temperatures kept both animals and exhibitors comfortable, and even a few surprise rainstorms and barn flooding couldn’t dampen the energy and community spirit. The fair highlighted the dedication, hard work, and growth of our members, and we’re already looking ahead to next year’s event with excitement.
The momentum doesn’t stop here! Enrollment for the new 4-H year opens October 1st, and it’s the perfect time for new and returning members to get involved. 4-H offers hands-on learning opportunities in everything from animal care and outdoor skills to leadership, STEM, and creative arts. Members gain confidence, develop practical life skills, and build lasting friendships while being supported by caring volunteers and mentors. Whether your child wants to raise an animal, learn to weld, bake, garden, or explore leadership, there’s a project to spark their interest.
Joining in October ensures access to the full range of project options, workshops, and events throughout the year, including next year’s fair. Don’t miss the chance to be part of a program where young people grow, lead, and thrive - enroll in Missoula County 4-H this fall!
