Missoula County Hay Exchange
The Missoula County Hay Exchange, created and hosted by the Department of Ecology and Extension, is a trusted source of forage options for horse and livestock owners in Western Montana. Any forage grower can be added to the list as long as they can provide a representative nutrient test of the current batch of hay for sale. MSU Extension agents are available to help with the testing process including proper sampling technique, sending to the appropriate laboratory, and helping to interpret the results for educated marketing of the forage products.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the forage they buy is appropriate and safe for their horses and to communicate respectfully with the growers. In most cases, the forage products represented below are inspected by an extension agent, but this is not always the case. Missoula Count Department of Ecology and Extension makes no claims or guarantees as to how livestock and horses will perform on the forages listed below.
