MSU Extension and the Missoula County Office of Emergency Management are bringing you a three part series in June 2025 to prepare you and your animals for the next emergency. In this one hour, online lecture learn about what resources you have available to you in Missoula County and beyond. There are practical, easy and FREE resources specific to Western Montana that will help you think through the planning process.

Planning Ahead is Critical – Livestock evacuation is complex and time-sensitive. Having a plan in place, including routes, partners, and transport, greatly improves outcomes.
Smart911 Saves Time and Lives – Creating or updating your Smart911 profile to include livestock info gives first responders a head start during emergencies.
Responsibility Lies with Owners –Owners must be prepared to move and care for their animals.

Who is Nick Holloway?
Nick Holloway serves as the Deputy Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator for the Missoula County Office of Emergency Management and as a Public Information Officer for the Western Montana All-Hazards Incident Management Team. He specializes in emergency preparedness, public communication, and interagency coordination. Nick has responded to hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and avalanches across the country. In addition to national deployments, he works closely with local and state partners to strengthen resilience, including emergency preparedness for animals, throughout Missoula County and Montana.
