DIY Apple Tree Grafting

Experience the magic of grafting your own apple tree!

Join James Sapp of Sapp's Permaculture Orchard for a hands-on workshop that will introduce you to the world of fruit tree grafting.

What is grafting?
The process of joining two plant parts-- the rootstock and a scion-- to create a new fruit tree with desired characteristics.

This workshop will cover:
- Rootstock selection
- Choosing scion varieties
- Proper knife use
- Care of newly grafted trees.

Supplies provided!
These include rootstock, apple scions*, grafting knives, grafting tape & sealant, and additional wood for practice.
Participants will leave with a grafted apple tree to plant at home!

*Have a favorite apple tree that you'd like to replicate? Participants are welcome to bring in their own scions for grafting! Contact Sandy (contact info below) if you need help with this process.

Cost: $35.00

Grafting knives available for PURCHASE IN ADVANCE for an additional $35.
Deadline to order a grafting knife is Friday, April 17.
