Montana State University invites community members in Missoula County to participate in an upcoming listening session to help shape the future of MSU by providing input on its next strategic plan.
The session, hosted by the Department of Ecology and Extension will take place on Tuesday, June 9th at 5:30 pm at the Gerald Marks Exploration Center (1075 South Avenue West, Missoula). The event is free and open to the public.
Montana State University is engaging communities across the state to gather input on priorities, opportunities and challenges that will guide the university’s direction in the years ahead. Community input from these conversations will directly inform MSU’s next strategic plan, which organizers expect to be finalized in 2026.
“This is an opportunity for our community to share perspectives and help shape how MSU serves Montanans in the future,” said Missoula County’s Extension Agents. “We encourage anyone with an interest in education, workforce development or the future of our state to participate.”
The listening session will include a facilitated discussion focused on key questions about MSU’s role in supporting students, strengthening communities, and contributing to Montana’s economic and social well-being. Organizers encourage attendees to share their ideas, experiences and priorities.
Input gathered from these sessions across Montana, along with ideas submitted online, will help identify themes, inform goals and develop strategies later this year.
Community members who are unable to attend can share their input through this online survey: https://montana.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2ayhdQIFUiR88Wq.
