Check for Apple scab
Apple tree leaves may have velvety-brown apple scab lesions or black blotches. Leaves may drop early, but don't worry; it usually is not damaging to trees. Fruit with sunken, dark spots was infected with apple scab fungus in May and June. Too late to treat now!
