Volunteer Event: Dig Medicinal Roots with Montana Herbal Festival
Join the Montana Herbal Festival to dig medicinal roots! Kelly Needs, co-founder of the Montana Herbal Festival and owner of Meadowsweet Herbs, will be leading the harvest of Elecampane and Marshmallow. We will discuss their medicinal properties, cultivation, and propagation! After digging, we will discuss how to process our roots for drying for later use in teas, syrups and more.
.
Our volunteers experience a hands-on educational opportunity in this beautiful public space. Work alongside our expert staff, and familiarize yourself with the vast variety of plantings the gardens have to offer.
Volunteering in the gardens is available to people of all experience levels and abilities. We also encourage children to participate, so long as a caretaker is available to guide them!
If you have specific needs or requests, please do not hesitate to reach out!
