Rocky Mountain Gardens

Garden Programs

As the growing season winds down, it's the perfect time to use up those garden odds and ends, and homemade salsa is a great way to do it!

Join Kelly Moore, MSU Family & Consumer Sciences Agent, for this hands-on lesson in making salsa from scratch. Learn the ratios for perfectly balanced flavors, and options for adjusting the heat to your preference.

This workshop will cover methods for making both fresh and canned salsa. If you're curious about canning but don't know where to begin, this is the perfect opportunity to learn!

DATE: Tuesday, September 30
TIME: 6 - 8 pm
LOCATION: Honeyberry Culinary Classroom, G.W. Marks Exploration Center
COST: $20*

From Garden to Classroom
The tomatoes for this workshop were grown in the Rocky Mountain Gardens Trial Garden area. This year we grew a dozen varieties of unusual paste tomatoes, known for their spectacular flavor both fresh and preserved. Visit the Trial Gardens to learn more about the unique varieties we selected!
