How & Why to Use iNaturalist
Technology can provide us with handy tools. The catch: How does one decipher which tools are best?
Marirose Kuhlman, MCDEE Habitat Coordinator, will lead this hands-on introduction to iNaturalist, a tool in which users' observations of the natural world are shared with a broader scientific community to track biodiversity. Join her for a walk through Rocky Mountain Gardens, and learn how you can use your curiosity to contribute to a greater cause!
This free event will discuss the benefits of using iNaturalist to identify the world around you, and share tips and tricks on how to use it most efficiently! Participants are encouraged to download the application on their smartphone beforehand.
More about iNaturalist:
"Every observation can contribute to biodiversity science, from the rarest butterfly to the most common backyard weed. We share your findings with scientific data repositories like the Global Biodiversity Information Facility to help scientists find and use your data. All you have to do is observe."
