Animal Emergency Preparedness

Owning animals in Missoula County means being prepared for everything in every season; wildfires, floods, power outages, earthquakes, highway closures, disease outbreaks, and extreme temperatures! On this page, you will find many valuable resources to start planning for the next emergency.

MAKE A DETAILED PLAN

Like Dwight Eisenhower said, “Plans are useless, but planning is indispensable!" The Animal Emergency Preparedness Worksheet is designed to help you begin the emergency or disaster planning process. It is specific to equine and livestock properties in Missoula County, both personal and commercial, and contains a list of local resources. We hope that the process of planning for an emergency and sharing that plan with your network will save lives.
